GPT Image 2.6 in Visnea: Flare, Sunburst, and GIFs

What GPT Image 2.6 adds, how to brief a targeted edit, and where Flare and Sunburst stand in Visnea.

OpenAI released GPT Image 2.6 on November 4, 2026. It comes in two versions: Flare for quick iteration and Sunburst for detailed compositions and successive edits.

What’s new in the Image API

  • Markup-guided edits. Send an annotated source image and describe the change inside the marked area.
  • Animated GIF output. Brief one short motion and tell the subject to return to its starting pose.
  • SVG and transparent backgrounds. Use them for marks, illustrations, and layout elements. Proof the curves, transparency, and legibility before shipping.

quality controls rendering detail, while complexity controls planning. For a small edit, compare low and default complexity at the same quality. For a layout with several constraints, check the order of the elements and where the copy lands.

Brief a targeted edit

The cover changes a lamp shade from mustard to vermilion. The stem, base and shadow stay in place. The cover is an ImageGen example of a targeted edit.

Prompt

Change only the enamel shade from mustard yellow to vermilion red. Preserve the shade shape, chrome stem, navy base, framing, background and shadows.

For a short GIF loop, lock the camera, brief one movement, and specify the return to the starting pose. OpenAI Docs shows paired Flare and Sunburst examples for object removal, exact text, style transfer, and animation.

GPT Image 2.6 in Visnea

GPT Image 2.6 is already in Visnea’s integration pipeline. As of November 5, Flare and Sunburst are being finalized on the backend. Both models will appear in Studio as the rollout progresses. Check the model form for current availability and formats.
